Today was the first day of minicamp open to the public. This minicamp was mandatory and we got to get another glimpse at the formations and personnel Sean Payton is implementing this offseason.

Today was the first day of Saints mandatory minicamp. These three days are open to the public and if you would like to attend tomorrow or Thursday the practices are being held at the Metairie facility and begin at 11:00 A.M. Here are some short takeaways from today's practices.

.) According to Ian Rapoport, John Jenkins has missed OTAs and today's minicamp due to minor surgery on his pectoral muscle. He is expected to be back soon.

.) With Cooks still finishing school, Stills and Strozier are fielding the punts.

.) There are two kickers fighting for the roster spot, Shayne Graham and Derek Dimke. Today, Graham missed one field goal while Dimke has made all of his during kicking drills. (Graham went 2/3, Dimke 3/3)

.) Defense continues to impress forcing quite a few strips early in drills, intercepting Brees in 7 on 7s.

.) Travaris Cadet making several big plays today, drawing "ooohs" from the crowd.

.) This week's starting CB rotation has been Lewis matched up with Champ Bailey, Corey White in the Nickel role. This of course could continue to shift as camps progress.

.) Lelito/Goodwin splitting time with the 1s

.) At the moment, Nick Toon seems to be silencing doubters (such as myself).

.) The Saints new fullback is getting targets in the passing game.
