Could the Saints play against their former defensive captain Jonathan Vilma twice next season? The possibility exists, as NFL.com's Dan Hanzus reports that the free agent middle linebacker could soon be on his way to Atlanta for a physical and a potential signing.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network confirmed the Falcons' interest in the former Saints linebacker in a series of tweets, included this one:
Falcons are looking hard at ex-#Saints LB Jonathan Vilma to replace Sean Weatherspoon, along vets Pat Angerer & Tim Dobbins, source says.

According to Hanzus, Atlanta is also interested in free-agent veterans Pat Angerer and Tim Robbins.
The reaction from both Falcons and Saints fans has been swift and not overly positive, as evidenced by the sampling of Tweets below. Which side of the fence do you stand on?
Vilma, don't you dare sign w/ the FAILcons!

@NFL_ATL @RapSheet as a life long Falcon fan I have to say we do not want a player like Vilma on our squad.
