First off let's started off with a list of the players, and the list sure grew this week, who were and are still injured.
Wide receiver Joe Morgan did return in a limited basis, and returned punts.
Kenny Stills dressed out for a bit and only attended the walk through.
On Tuesday Jahri Evans began practice, then left during the one-on-one drills. No word on his injury or the seriousness. No surprise there.
Wide receiver Andy Tanner was delegated to the exercise bike Wednesday, but he was in good company.
Corner back Champ Bailey who had not been seen recently, was also on the exercise bike Wednesday.
John Jenkins is still out but was seen dressed out and running with Drew Brees, who by the way, has also been held out with an oblique injury. Drew was throwing the football on Wednesday, so that's an improvement. His status for the preseason game is in doubt.
Ben Grubbs who has been out with another undisclosed injury, was running with Drew, working the sleds, and the training staff seemed to be giving him a pretty good workout on the sidelines.
Offensive tackle Ty Neskhe did not participate. No word here.
CB Terrence Frederickis out.
CB Derrius Brooks out.
LB Victor Butler who our very own Andrew Juge of Saints Nation, reported first, was seen by Andrew in a walking boot.
FB Erik Lorig is reported to be out with an undisclosed leg injury. Sean Payton would have you believe it's nothing serious, however they did sign FB Greg Jones.
Converted TE (WR) Je’Ron Hamm was doing well at camp before he went down.
WR Steve Hull was waived injured yesterday. While NT Tyrone Ezell and OLB Marcus Thompson were also waived.
Glenn Foster returned to practice, and was quickly benched to the sidelines when he jumped offside in 11-on 11 drills.
Veteran players doing well include Jimmy Graham, Cam Jordan, and (take no prisoners)- Kenny Vaccaro. Doing surprisingly well in camp were both Corey White and Patrick Robinson. Ryan Griffin has been making his case for the #2 spot at QB as well.
And Junior Galette, who I almost left out, has been on fire.
Rookies making their case include Brandin Cooks, WR Seantavius Jones, WR Brandon Coleman, S Marcus Ball, S Pierre Warren, and S Vinnie Sunseri.
Rookie CB Stanley Jean-Baptiste, who started out slow, turned things up yesterday, with a few nice past breakups, and dropped a sure interception from Luke McCown.
Tom Benson, who had already been treated for dehydration, was taken to the hospital after being given oxygen. Mr Benson who is 87, was released and returned to New Orleans. Greg Bensel, New Orleans Saints spokesman, said Tom was doing fine and reported to his office on Wednesday. Mr. Benson will not be at the preseason game with the St. Louis Rams. Also Mr. Benson is more than likely to remain in New Orleans until the team returns.
