FOOTBALL OUTSIDERS: Innovative Statistics, Intelligent Analysis | Any Given Sunday: Browns Over Saints
The cure for New Orleans' secondary relies a lot on regression to the mean. Vaccaro can't be this bad. Robinson has the track record that says he can be this bad, but not the rope to keep playing so poorly and keep his job. Finally, with a competent third safety in Rafael Bush, it's probably time for the Saints to make the move to more big nickel and dime packages. Curtis Lofton and David Hawthorne are not the two linebackers to whom you want to entrust the middle of the field.

The Minnesota Vikings (1-1) visit the New Orleans Saints (0-2) in Week 3 for a contest scheduled at noon central. The last time the Vikings traveled to New Orleans was kickoff weekend in 2010 in a game played on Thursday night when the Saints handed the Vikings a 14-9 loss. The Vikings will look to win their 2nd road game of the 2014 season after finishing 0-7-1 during the 2013 season while the Saints search for their first win of the season. The Vikings hold a 20-10 record all-time vs. the Saints, including a 8-7 mark in New Orleans.

The Eagles Know How To Use Darren Sproles
New Orleans had their reasons—space for Jimmy Graham's contract, a crowded running back depth chart—but the big cause was probably a combination of the Saints not knowing when to use Sproles, and deciding it wasn't worth his contract to find out.

NFL Under Pressure Over Adrian Peterson Reinstatement

Minnesota governor calls on Vikings to suspend Peterson | ProFootballTalk
The governor of Minnesota is calling on the Vikings to change course and suspend Adrian Peterson for abusing his son. Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton says Peterson -- who admits that he whipped his son and caused cuts and bruises -- should not be playing until he has gone through the legal process.

Anheuser-Busch disappointed, concerned, dissatisfied with NFL | ProFootballTalk
Make no mistake, the reason the NFL’s owners are supportive of Goodell is that the NFL’s owners have made a lot of money while Goodell has run the league. The day Goodell’s mismanagement of this issue costs the owners money is the day Goodell loses the support of the owners. Goodell has already mismanaged the Rice case. He had better figure out the right way to handle the cases of Peterson, Hardy and McDonald.
