NFL Mock Draft 2015: Saints Select Trae Waynes

New, comments

Dan Kadar at SB Nation's Mocking the Draft thinks the Saints look to improve their secondary in the 2015 NFL draft.

Mocking the Draft is on top of all the early mock action with their most recent edition. Dan Kadar has the Saints selecting cornerback Trae Waynes from Michigan State. Here is how Kadar defends his choice:

13. New Orleans SaintsTrae Waynes, CB, Michigan State

With the Saints likely unable to sign a top free agent like Seattle's Byron Maxwell, going for arguably the best cornerback in the draft will help to fix the secondary.

First of all, if there's anything I know about the Saints it's that Mickey Loomis could, in fact, sign a top free agent like Seattle's Byron Maxwell. What, is that some sort of dare? Don't make Loomis sign the best available defensive free agent this offseason. DO NOT! Because he will do it, damnit! He'll freakin' sign him right now just because you told him he couldn't, and the league year hasn't even started yet!

Anyway, I'm okay with selecting a cornerback here. I would have also accepted a stud offensive lineman. Thank god he didn't do something crazy, like pick a wide receiver.

It's way too early for this pick to be accurate. Rankings and mocks will flip six ways to Sunday before it's all said and done. But what do you guys think? Cornerback is good, right?
