Saints News, 1/21/15: Saints Haven't Discussed Pay Cut With Marques Colston

New, comments

From Nola.com: The New Orleans Saints salary cap issues are no secret by this point. They're reported to be at least $20 million over the projected 2015 salary cap of $140 million. Saints general manager Mickey Loomis isn't overly concerned with the cap situation as the team has built in mechanisms, such as converting roster bonuses to signing bonuses, to free up room. One of those names is wide receiver Marques Colston, who is due $7 million in base salary next season. However, Colston and the Saints haven't discussed any sort of pay cut, nor have they discussed his salary at all this offseason, a source said. Publicly, Colston said three weeks ago that he'd like to get away and spend time with his family before addressing the business side of things.
