New Orleans Saints' Junior Galette, cousin accused of roughing up woman in Kenner | NOLA.com
New Orleans Saints outside linebacker Junior Galette, 26, was arrested Monday on a charge of roughing up a woman at his Kenner house. Police also arrested Terrance Banks, 27, of Newark, N.J., who they said was Galette's cousin. The pair were booked with simple battery on a 22-year-old Metairie woman who identified herself as an assistant to Galette. She told investigators that she had been living with him for about two years, said Lt. Brian McGregor, spokesman for the Kenner Police Department. Police were dispatched at 8:52 a.m. to the house in the 4400 block of Rue de la Harbor. McGregor said the woman told officers: "Junior and Terrance jumped me." She told police she had spent the night at Galette's residence and tried to rouse him in the morning to get money for a taxicab. Galette woke Banks and told him to take care of it. But both men then told the woman they weren't giving her any money and ordered her out of the house. The three began arguing. The woman said Galette pushed her twice to get her to leave. Galette mentioned contract concerns when arrested, Kenner police said | NOLA.com
It seems the consequences of a domestic violence charge were on the mind of New Orleans Saints linebacker Junior Galette when Kenner police arrested him Monday morning, according to authorities. "Galette made a statement to the officer that he can't afford to take a domestic charge because of his contract," Lt. Brian McGregor, spokesman for the Kenner Police Department said. That's because Galette, who just signed a four-year, $41.5 million contract extension, could face a possible six-game suspension under NFL's new conduct policy. A league spokesman told NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune that the NFL is already looking into Galette's arrest on a charge of simple battery involving a domestic violence. Kenner police say Galette, 26, and Terrance Banks, 27, of Newark, N.J., are accused of roughing up a 22-year-old woman in an attempted to put her out of Galette's Kenner home. The woman told officers Galette pushed her and manhandled her. Authorities said the victim suffered bleeding from her ear and scratches on her face. Under the NFL conduct policy adopted in December, players can be suspended for at least six games without pay for incidents involving assault, battery, domestic violence, dating violence or any other form of family violence...
