Atlanta Falcons crowd noise under investigation by NFL, ESPN reports | NOLA.com
Atlanta Falcons fans surely enjoyed seeing the New Orleans Saints lose draft picks -- and so much more -- as a result of the bounty scandal in 2012. Could Saints fans soon have reason to laugh at the Falcons' expense? ESPN reported Sunday the Falcons are being investigated by the NFL for use of artificial crowd noise during home games over the last two seasons. The offense could cost the Falcons a draft pick, and the team could be fined, the report said. The report said the Falcons have been accused of piping in noise as opposing offenses huddle. Yet some argue the use of silent counts diminish the impact of crowd noise, the report said. The Saints at Atlanta over the last two seasons won 17-13 in 2013 and lost in overtime 37-34 in 2014. The Falcons over the last two seasons in the Georgia Dome went 6-9, which discounts one 2014 home game played in London.
