Saints News, 3/17/15: Saints Cut Dannell Ellerbe's Base Salary by $7.4 million

New, comments

From NOLA.com: Ellerbe's base salary will be $1.1 million instead of $8.5 million in 2015. He also agreed to amend his 2016 salary from $6.45 million to $4.1 million and his 2017 salary from $6 million to $4.1 million, records show. Ellerbe does not appear to have any significant bonuses in 2015, except for $100,000 in what is likely a workout bonus. The Saints have $2.89 million in space under the 2015 salary cap, according to the NFLPA. That's enough to add the contract of new running back C.J. Spiller. The team will still need to make further cuts to be able to add any more free agents or sign draft picks later this spring.
