In their ongoing effort to get under the salary cap, the New Orleans Saints have changed a big part of the contract of linebacker Junior Galette into a signing bonus, thus cutting down about 10 million dollars in their salary cap figure.
The transaction was reported by Ian Rapoport and several other reporters on Twitter

The new figures on the Saints salary cap are now being estimated to be around 2.44 million dollars under the cap.

The move could mean that Galette will now stay with the team, despite legal issues he still has to deal with. New Orleans paying Galette such a large amount in the form of a signing bonus likely means that they won't just let him walk away with that kind of money without producing something in return for the team.
