GateGate: Saints Franchise Under Investigation for Illegal Stadium Procedures

The Saints are once again in the scope of Roger Goodell and the NFL, this time for illegal practices regarding stadium security.

Cheating under the guise of safety procedures, that is what the National Football League is investigating the New Orleans Saints for.

After an unnamed NFL GM tipped off the league, the Saints are now facing an investigation and possible punishment for allegedly having security steal and photograph opposing teams' playbooks and sensitive football documents during supposed "routine security checks" before being allowed to enter the Superdome.

While details are still coming out, and the evidence has yet to be seen, the feeling inside the NFL is that the league has an ironclad case and the punishment could be a figurative death sentence.

Roger Goodell's only comment so far is, "The NFL is looking into the matter.  The league does not take cheating lightly and just punishment will be tolled if we find a reason to believe there was any wrong doing."

Sean Payton and Mickey Loomis both declined to comment.

As more information comes in, we should get a better idea of the validity of these claims, as well as what to expect in terms of punishment, if found guilty.

With this breaking news and the NFL's history with investigations regarding the Saints, there is only one saving grace... it's April 1st.
