NFL Mock Draft 2015: Kansas City Chiefs Select Dorial Green-Beckham

With the 18th pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs (represented by jmcmillan_93) select...

Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

Dorial Green-Beckham, WR, Missouri

He's got the same last name (kinda) as Odell Beckham Jr. That's something, right? The biggest needs for the Chiefs are WR and OL. What I liked about Green-Beckham were the size and speed.  According to NFL.com he's 6'5" 237lbs with a 4.49 40 time. He has a good catch radius and has good body control with the ball in the air. His off the field issues have been well documented, and he was kicked off of Mizzou team. Andy Reid is a players' coach, and I think he may be able to work with the talented troublemaker.

As I look at the Kansas City's roster, I see a solid team. They have a good defense, a new number 1 wide receiver, an elite running back (even a good backup rb), good OL (although they need to address Center), and an emerging tight end (in my opinion) in Travis Kelce. I can't keep myself from believing that if the Chiefs can get a good enough receiving core then Captain Checkdown will eventually look up to find one of them.  Green-Beckham is a first round talent that can become a red zone threat to a team whose wide receivers literally caught ZERO touchdowns last year.

In the real draft, the GM's will need to wrestle with the risk/reward of Green-Beckham, but as the Chief's fantasy GM I'll take the flier on him since my job doesn't depend on it.
