Dear PayLoo: Please no WRs at #31

A pre-draft letter to Payton and Loomis about drafting WRs at #31.

Dear PayLoo,

It’s finally the eve of the 2015 NFL Draft and I have an important request.

Unless:

Amari Cooper

Kevin White

DeVante Parker

Jaelen Strong

Is available at #31 (likely won't be available), do NOT - I repeat DO NOT - draft a wide receiver there. I’d prefer you don’t take a WR in the first at all, regardless of value, but if one of those guys is available, I suppose. Begrudgingly. To make it easy for you to not mistakenly draft a WR anyways, the following are names I should not hear at all on Thursday evening:

Dorial Green-Beckham

Breshad Perriman

Phillip Dorsett

Nelson Agholor

You can get one of those 4 at #44. And don’t even think about getting cute and drafting Devin Smith, Sammie Coates, or Tyler Lockett there. You can get one of them at #75. Or #78. You have 5 picks in the first 80 – Don’t be a collective jerkface about it and don’t just take my word for it.

What do Emmanuel Sanders, T.Y. Hilton, Golden Tate, Randall Cobb, DeSean Jackson, Alshon Jeffery, Steve Smith, Anquan Boldin, Josh Gordon, Brandon Marshall, Vincent Jackson, Torrey Smith, Jordy Nelson and Antonio Brown all have in common aside from preferring Skippy over Jif peanut butter?

They were all selected in or after the 2nd round.

That 3-time Pro Bowler and All-Pro Antonio Brown, who amassed 3,197 yards and 21 TDs (including a passing TD) in the last two seasons, was taken in the 6th round (#195), is a travesty beyond my comprehension. Seriously. Someone, please. What the F happened here?

That said, do what you will with #s 13 and 31. There are a bunch of options. I personally would love to see the super smash bros Vic Beasley at 13 and Stephone Anthony at 31. Scherff would be nice. Same with maybe Waynes.

But it’s not like I have any say.

Except for here. No WRs at #31.

Yours affectionately,

QDD
