NFL Mock Draft 2015: New Orleans Saints Select Breshad Perriman

The New Orleans Saints are once again on the clock in the first round. That's something we don't often hear during the draft but my what a sweet sound it is.

And with two picks in the first round of the draft, you don't think Sean Payton would be able to keep from taking a shiny new toy for his potent offense, do you? Which is why there's no way the Saints don't go with Perriman in this situation. Recently his stock has risen and most or all "expert" mock drafts now have him gone by the time the Saints are on the clock at 31, which makes this a good value pick as well.

At 6'2", 210-pounds and a blazing 4.24 40-yard dash time, Perriman is an offensive guru's wet dream. He's been compared to Dez Bryant and Josh Gordon. That's not shabby company. And if there's one thing the Saints are now missing, particularly in the wake of Jimmy Graham's trade, is a big - and fast! - target for Brees to find easily. Perriman's big wingspan would be a nice option for Drew on the field.

There's one red flag regarding Perriman and it's that he's a little rough around the edges; from a skill standpoint, not a character standpoint. His route running needs some help but the big knock seems to be his ball skills. His dropped pass rate is alarming to many scouts and those evaluating.

All that aside, this pick would be too perfect because of the storyline. As it turns out, Breshad's father Brett is a 10-year NFL veteran receiver who entered the league back in 1988 when he was drafted by...you guessed it...the New Orleans Saints.
