NFL Mock Draft 2015: Atlanta Falcons Select Bud Dupree

Bud Dupree isn't anyone's first choice with the #8 pick, and I'm sure his selection will be met with cries of "reach!" I don't look at it that way, however.

The Falcons simply have to add impact defenders up front, and Dupree has a good chance to become one. He's got length, athleticism and the willingness to hit that Dan Quinn loves in his front seven defenders, and he has as much upside as any player left on the board at this point. What he needs is good coaching, experience and plenty of practice, and with the Falcons effectively rebuilding their front seven this year, Dupree should get plenty of that. I firmly believe he can be a true impact player as soon as 2016, with flashes in 2015 that will help this team get back to relevance.

This is not a reach, in my humble opinion. It's grabbing a projectable, powerful defender that fits into Dan Quinn's scheme. I'd be happy with this selection.
