Saints News, 5/14/15: Saints Among 15 NFL Teams with Military Sponsorship Deals

From Mike Triplett: The New Orleans Saints were added to the list of 15 NFL teams identified by NJ.com as having paid sponsorship arrangements with the U.S. Department of Defense (mostly promotional agreements with the National Guard). Saints spokesman Greg Bensel, however, refuted the notion that those deals include charging the military for honoring or hosting military members. "The National Guard advertises with us just like they would anyone else, like ESPN. ... They pay to advertise with us," Bensel said Wednesday, via email. "That is all. Our marketing and sponsorship agreement with the National Guard is designed to help them fulfill their objectives of increasing their awareness and helping them in recruiting efforts, which is no different than any other sponsorship agreement. And we need to be very clear that by no means do we charge the military for any event where we honor them or host them in any capacity during our games or not during our games."
