Saints Sign Defensive Tackle Kevin Williams

The Saints have signed the veteran defensive tackle to help bolster the defensive line.

The New Orleans Saints have signed longtime Minnesota Vikings defensive tackle Kevin Williams to a one-year deal today.  Williams most recently played for the Seattle Seahawks last season, appearing in Super Bowl XLIX.  He will re-join former short-time teammate Max Unger, hopefully helping the Saints reach Super Bowl 50.

Williams is a six-time Pro-Bowler and a five-time first team All-Pro.  He is also a member of the NFL's 2000's All-Decade Team.  The 12 year NFL veteran is 34 years old.

Here are Williams' career stats:

This has the potential to be a very shrewd signing for the Saints, who needed help and depth at nose tackle.  Hopefully, Williams still has another good season left in the tank.  Either way, his veteran presence should help the Saints defense in 2015.
