With the New Orleans Saints arriving in West Virginia for their 2015 Training Camp, a big release for the team has been announced:
#Saints release DT Brodrick Bunkley, who has been battling injury
— Mike Triplett (@MikeTriplett) July 28, 2015
This is quite a noteworthy release for the Saints, as Bunkley had been the starting nose tackle for the defense since the 2012 season. Bunkley reportedly failed his physical, and with him spending the end of last season on the injured reserve list, it just may have been time for the team to end the relationship.
This will make the offseason signing of veteran DT Kevin Williams even more crucial, as well as the need to develop third-year DT John Jenkins. Rookie Tyeler Davidson will also be an option at nose tackle depth, as the Saints will now need all the help they can receive.
Training Camp just became a little more interesting.
