Former NFL quarterback legend Kenneth "The Snake" Stabler passed away Wednesday, July 8th from complications due to colon cancer. He was 69 years old.
Despite some confusion and reports saying Stabler was still alive, his death was confirmed by his ex-wife and family.
Stabler spent most of his career with the Raiders, during which time he earned a Super Bowl championship, 4 Pro Bowl nods, and was an All-Pro once. He joined the Saints in the twilight of his career, from 1982-84. He started 22 games in that span and earned a perfectly mediocre 11-11 record before retiring.
Like many of our young readers, Stabler was before my time. So I invite all of our older members to share their stories of The Snake now.
