First Quarter
- The Saints kickoff to start the game.
- A lot of new faces and jersey numbers on the Saints defense. It's going to take a little while to memorize them all and remember who is who.
- The Saints defense appears to pick up exactly where they left off last season, letting the Ravens move easily and efficiently down the field on a 16-play 80-yard drive that takes 8 minutes off the clock. It might as well have been the 5th quarter of the Saints vs. Ravens game from 2014.
- Dannell Ellerbe walks off the field with trainers and goes to the locker room. Brandon Browner gets his foot stepped on and limps along the sideline. He gets carted to the locker room.
- Luke McCown starts the game at quarterback. Drew Brees will be a cheerleader for the evening.
- The Saints go 3 and out on offense.
- Delvin Breaux appears to have a concussion and also goes to the locker room.
- 3rd and 9 for the Ravens and they score on a 45-yard touchdown pass to Campanaro. Saints already find themselves down 14-0.
- Marcus Murphy looks explosive returning a kickoff 49 yards but a penalty brings it back to the 25-yard line.
- Saints still can't get a first down. Go 3 and out. Punt away.
Second Quarter
- The Saints finally hold the Ravens, who settle for a field goal. Ravens now lead 17-0.
- Just to recap the game up to this point: Ravens with 170 yards, 11 first downs, 14:12 minutes of possession. Saints with 11 yards, 0 first downs, 3:06 minutes of possession.
- 19 minutes into the game and the Saints finally get their first first down, thanks to a 15-yard pass completion to Josh Morgan.
- McCown dumps a short pass off to Brandin Cooks, who gets good blocking, finds space, and runs 25 yards for the touchdown. Saints cut the lead to 7-17.
- Tyeler Davison called for 15-yard facemask penalty on 3rd and 1.
- Kasim Edebali makes a nice tackle and stop on a short passing play.
- Ravens settle for another field goal. Lead 20-7.
- Ryan Griffin checks into the game at quarterback. Luke McCown finishes 7-for-10, 75 yards, 1 TD.
- Khiry Robinson breaks off a great run for 29 yards.
- Griffin hits Josh Hill for a 4-yard reception followed immediately by a 25-yard strike.
- Khiry Robinson takes a short pass and takes it 21 yards to the house for a touchdown. Saints now only down 14-20. Things are starting to look up!
Third Quarter
- Saints offense starts the second half with the ball.
- We get our first look at Andrus Peat, who is playing right tackle.
- Tim Hightower checks into the game at running back. He breaks off a nice 11-yard run.
- Tight end Orson Charles drops a pass right in his chest, but redeems himself on 3rd down by catching a 24-yarder.
- Saints go for it on 4th down and pick it up with a 5-yard toss to Erik Lorig.
- Bryce Harris called for false start and holding penalty.
- Zach Hocker gets a chance at a 50-yard field goal but missed it.
- Damian Swann jumps the route and makes a nice interception! Saints need that big time .
- Hightower gets A LOT of work, some for little gain, but he dazzles once for 10 yards followed by a run of 7 yards. Also picks up a 3rd and 1.
- Zach Hocker gets another chance, this time from 47-yards out and he nails it. The Saints are now down only 17-20.
- Yet another player is carted off the field. This time it's guard Cyril Lemon.
- Ramon Humber gets shaken up on a play and walks with trainers into the locker room. This is starting to get ridiculous. Even if the Saints end up winning this game, they're the losers tonight.
- Garrett Grayson checks into the game. The Grayson Era has begun.
Fourth Quarter
- Willie Snead and Lance Lewis each get a reception.
- Zach Hocker ties the game at 20-20 with a 50-yard field goal. It's a story of redemption.
- Damian Swann negates some of the good will from his interception with an illegal contact penalty and a pass interference penalty.
- Lawrence Virgil lying in pain on the field following a play. He's also carted to the locker room. Unbelievable.
- Ravens make a field goal and re-gain the lead 23-20.
- Andrus Peat moving around, now playing the left tackle position.
- Willie Snead makes an incredible over-the-shoulder bobbling reception with blanket coverage along the sideline. And a pretty nice touch pass by Grayson on the front end. Yowza!
- No catches for Brandon Coleman tonight.
- Kaleb Eulls getting consistent penetration and making two tackles in the back field. He also bats down a pass at the line.
- Another interception! This time it's Terrence Frederick, who takes advantage of a poorly thrown ball.
- Kyle Prater makes his mark on the game with a sweet 19-yard reception.
- The Saints take their first lead of the night after a short Marcus Murphy scamper for 3 yards. Saints up 27-23.
- Jamarca Sanford showed some flashes of talent.
- 4th and 20 for the Ravens with 0:46 seconds remaining so of course the Saints defense gives up 22 yards and the first down. Just like 2014.
- Jamarca Sanford called for a clear pass interfence in the end zone. Ravens get the ball on the 1-yard line.
- There have been way too many penalties tonight. 16 penalties, in fact, for 143 yards. But that's not surprising for the first preseason game.
- Renner scrambles and runs into the end zone for the game-winning touchdown with 0:02 seconds left. Ravens win 30-27.
