The first round of roster cuts has arrived. All NFL teams must reduce their rosters to a maximum of 75 players on the Active List prior to 3:00 p.m. CST Tuesday, September 1st so we'll be hearing about cuts around the league soon.
The Saints currently have 88 players on their active roster plus Jairus Byrd on the PUP list, Which means the Saints need to get rid of 13 players by tomorrow, either by cutting them or moving them to Injured Reserve. Safety Vinnie Sunseri was carted off the field during the game against the Texas yesterday with a reported ACL tear. If his season is done and he's placed on IR, the Saints really just need to cut 12 players.
Below is a list of 13 players that are very likely candidates to be cut this first round. If you haven't heard of some of these names or even know these guys were on the team, that's part of the reason they're good candidates to be let go. They just haven't gotten the reps and haven't done enough to prove themselves.
