After one half of play in Phoenix the Saints are hanging in with the Cardinals thanks to some costly mistakes by Arizona. Too many men on the field on a Saints punt gave New Orleans an automatic first down, allowing them to score a touchdown and keep the game close. Poor clock management at the end of the half kept the Cardinals from kicking a field goal.
The Saints defense looked as bad as expected to start the game but tightened up a bit in the second quarter. They still have not been able to notch a sack. Brandon Browner missed two separate opportunities for an interception.
Brandon Coleman scored the Saints only touchdown of the day, the first of his career.
The Saints will start the second half with possession.
