Yes, there is reason to be hopeful as a New Orleans Saints fan. The Saints have opened the spreads this week as seven point favorites to beat the Dallas Cowboys at home in New Orleans.
Last week, both the Saints and the Cowboys played without their starting quarterbacks and while this week the Cowboys will once again be starting Brandon Weedon -- as Tony Romo remains on Injured Reserve with the designation to return -- it's possible and hopeful that Drew Brees will return to play this week when the Cowboys visit the Superdome. Brees is optimistic about it, at least.
Last week, Weedon completed 22/26 pases for 232 yards, one interception and two sacks. Good for a passer rating of 87.8. But, Vegas seems to think he won't be as successful again in Week 4, and, even with a decent stat line, he still wasn't able to secure the win for the Cowboys in Week 3. In November 2014 on another occasion in which Weedon played, he was 18-of-33 for 183 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. So, there's reason to believe his relative success against the Falcons was a fluke.
Time will tell, but if the odds are any indication, there is reason to be hopeful that the Saints can get a win this Sunday night.
