The New Orleans Saints are down another player when they take on the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. According to ESPN Insider Adam Caplan, cornerback Sterling Moore is not expected to play. Caplan notes that Moore had surgery last week, but the injury is not suspected to be long-term.
This is obviously a big blow for the team. Moore has become an important player for the defense and has done about as much you could possibly hope for a guy filling in for the injured starters.
Moore didn’t play against the Kansas City Chiefs last Sunday, and it showed how important he is for the team. Ken Crawley gave up some big plays, and B. W. Webb had some struggles as well.
Defensive coordinator Dennis Allen will hope his guys can contain the talented Seahawks receivers (mainly Doug Baldwin), but they have their work cut out for them without Moore on the field.
