According to reports, New Orleans Saints defensive tackle Nick Fairley is getting fined $9,115 for his personal foul penalty against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The foul occured late in the fourth quarter after it appeared the Saints offense would get the ball back with some Chiefs miscues. Unfortunately, Fairley's penalty wiped it all out after the play was over.
The Saints eventually got the ball back, but had way less time to work with on offense as a result.
The free agent acquisition had an emotional week after losing his mother. While we sympathize Fairley's situation and recognize the good he's done for the defense this season, this was clearly not one of his best moments. As Joel Erickson of The Advocate points out, Fairley accepted full responsibility for the error.
