Surprise, surprise. Drew Brees is at it again.

NFL: Seattle Seahawks at New Orleans Saints Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees is one of three nominees for Week 8’s Castrol EDGE Clutch Performer of the Week. The NFL announced Brees as one of five players up for the award. Atlanta’s Mohamed Sanu, Oakland’s Derek Carr, Dallas’ Dak Prescott, and New England’s Tom Brady are also up for top performer. The weekly award honors the best performer or performance of the week that represents strength in key moments.

On Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks, Brees went 27-of-35 (77 percent) for 265 yards and a passing touchdown. He also had a rushing touchdown late in the second quarter.

Brees is currently third in the NFL in passing yards (2,366 yards), second in touchdown passes (18), third in rating (104.7), and tied for second in completions (214).

Fans may vote for one of these five performers on www.nfl.com/castrol-edge through Friday at 3 p.m. ET. The winner will be announced Friday on NFL Total Access on NFL Network, and then posted on NFL.com.
