The NFL announced their International Series lineup for 2017 on Tuesday morning, and the New Orleans Saints and Miami Dolphins are officially on the lineup. The London calling between the two is slated for an early 2017 meeting during either Week 3 (Sept. 24, 2017) or Week 4 (Oct. 1, 2017) at Wembley Stadium. The final decision won’t be made until the NFL releases their schedule in April.
The Saints are listed as the road team on this one, which is good news for season ticket holders. It would be safe to assume that the team will be in line for an early bye week again, but not all teams that have played in the UK have been that fortunate.
The rest of the matchups announced by the league were: Baltimore at Jacksonville (which is the other early season matchup), Minnesota at Cleveland, and Arizona at Los Angeles. The later two games will be played during Weeks 7 and 8 of the regular season.
The Saints were a part of the second set of teams to square off in London when they defeated the Chargers in 2008 37-32 in front of a crowd of 83,226.
