If you're a daily fantasy player, I look at four players from the New Orleans Saints and their opponent’s rosters that I would target in daily fantasy (based off their value and potential results). Obviously, Saints QB Drew Brees is a safe QB for daily fantasy leagues, but spending your money on a top-tier starting QB leaves you scraping the barrel to fill out the rest of your roster.
So here are one Saint and three Bucs that provide the most bang for your buck. (Values from Fanduel.)
K Roberto Aguayo (TB) - $4,500
Anyone who has read any of these posts before knows that the Kicker position is always one to find good value. Aguyao, after being drafted in the second round, has had his fair share of misses in both extra points and field goals. This has plummeted his daily fantasy value, making him among the cheapest kickers available. In a game that will likely not repeat the teams’ last defensive showdown, Aguayo is a good bet to plenty of kicking opportunities. If he’s able to convert those opportunities into points is another thing...
TE Cameron Brate (TB) - $5,600
Like Kicker and Defense, Tight End is another position where there are quality options to be found without having to spend a huge chunk of your daily allocation. Brate has burst onto the scene of late and is QB Jameis Winston’s #2 receiving option. Coming in $1,400 cheaper than the most expensive Tight End available and going against a Saints linebacking corps that will be without Stephone Anthony (placed on IR earlier this week), Brate is a good bet to exceed his value.
WR Mike Evans (TB) - $8,900
Brate might be Jameis Winston’s #2 target, but #1 is definitely WR Mike Evans. Like picking RB David Johnson last week, Evans is actually the most expensive WR on the board. Still, he has been the most productive wideout in all of fantasy football this season, and he’s going against a Saints secondary that just surrendered over 300+ yards to Carson Palmer. Mike Evans should be worth every dollar.
RB Mark Ingram (NO) - $6,300
Mark Ingram might be the best value pick in all of daily fantasy this week. Coming in $3,200 cheaper than the most expensive RB available, Ingram is a steal. Ingram was visibly upset (understatement) at not getting the opportunity to punch the ball in the endzone against the Cardinals last week. When Brandin Cooks voiced similar displeasure with a lack of touches in the Saints blowout win over Los Angeles, you could see a conscious choice to try to force the ball his win the following weeks. Expect the Saints to feed Ingram and make up for his lack of a touchdown last week.
My full daily fantasy lineup this week:
QB Andrew Luck (IND) - $8,300
RB Mark Ingram (NO) - $6,300
RB Carlos Hyde (SF) - $7,100

WR Michael Crabtree (OAK) - $6,200
TE Cameron Brate (TB) - $5,600
