NFL insider/scoop breaker Ian Rapoport has reported via Twitter that the New Orleans Saints not only have strong interest in free agent linebacker James Laurinaitis but they are looking to bring him in for a visit next week.
The interest in FA LB James Laurinaitis is strong, and #Saints want to get a jump on things. NO hoping to bring him in for a visit next week
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) February 27, 2016
Laurinaitis, 29, was originally drafted in the 2nd Round (#35 overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft by the St. Louis Rams. He has started every single game in his seven seasons with the team, but his effectiveness and his stats have tailed off since 2012.
Some see him as an over-priced, declining player who would not be a good signing for the Saints. Others disagree. Which camp are you in? What do you think of this report?
