The New Orleans Saints have signed defensive tackle Nick Fairly to a 1-year contract. Ian Rapoport was the first one with the news.
DT Nick Fairley has agreed to terms on a 1-year deal with the #Saints, source said. It was headed this way last week, but now official

Even more interesting, Fairley actually had a couple of other offers but chose the Saints.
Nick Fairley chose the #Saints over offers from the #Patriots and #Texans. With a 1-year deal, no question he'll be motivated. Solid move.

The signing comes as no surprise. Fairley was spotted in New Orleans over a week ago and Rapoport suggested last week that we would see this signing soon.irley visited the Saints last week
That now makes two former St. Louis Rams defensive free agents the Saints have signed this off-season, James Laurinaitis being the other signee. Considering how good the Rams defense has been in recent years, there are worse teams to pluck from. Adding Fairley definitely gives the Saints a little more push up the middle, something they've needed desperately.
