It's time for a new mock draft from ESPN draft guru Todd McShay but for Saints fans, there isn't much new about it. Because like his last mock draft and like Mel Kiper last month, he's got the Saints taking defensive end A'Shawn Robinson from Alabama.
This is starting to get ridiculous actually. I can't remember a time in recent history when one player were mocked to the same team so often, especially this early in the process. Anyway, here is McShay's explanation of his pick this time:
12. New Orleans Saints
A'Shawn Robinson, DT, Alabama
Robinson is never going to be a guy who puts up huge numbers or blows away the athletic tests in Indy, but if you're looking for an interior D-lineman to plug holes and occupy blockers, this is your guy. On tape, he consistently stands up opposing linemen and pushes them into the backfield. He does a good job of tracking the ball and redirecting for someone who's 307 pounds. Tough, physical and imposing, Robinson is exactly the type of player the Saints need to change their identity on defense.
This is the point where I ask you guys what you think about the pick, but considering this is the third time Robinson has been mocked to the Saints by either McShay or Mel Kiper, I'm pretty sure I've heard all of your opinions on the subject already. So feel free to copy and paste one of your previous comments.
