New Orlean Saints Not Expected to Bring Back Khiry Robinson

New, comments

Even with Khiry's rehab progressing, the Saints are not expected to offer the veteran running back a contract to come back to New Orleans.

A few weeks ago, we posted a link to Khiry Robinson's Twitter account showing his progress rehabbing from injury. For the New Orleans Saints, this looks to be moot.

Numerous outlets have indicated the Saints are not expected to tender a contract to the Saints Running Back who broke his leg during the 2015 season. Playing in only eight games last year, Khiry ran the ball 56 times for 180 yards and added 17 receptions for 115 yards. Khiry rushed for four touchdowns in 2015 and three in 2014, when he ran for 362 yards in 10 games (averaging 4.8 yards per carry).

For better or worse, it looks like Khiry's career is done in New Orleans after three seasons. That is not to say Khiry and the Saints may not begin contract negotiations later in the offseason, or that we will not see in suit up again for the Black and Gold. But right now, the Saints seem to be sticking with C.J. Spiller as their change-of-pace back in lieu of Robinson.
