More of the same for Kiper's third mock draft.

Mel Kiper has just released his third first round mock draft of the 2016 NFL Draft. To the New Orleans Saints at number 12 overall is a name familiar for recent mocks: Louisville 's Defensive Lineman Sheldon Rankins.

Rankins is a Defensive Tackle and run-stuffer who recorded 53 tackles and 6 sacks in his 2015 season with Louisville. About Rankins to the Saints, Kiper says:

A big man with the quickness to create havoc in the backfield working from the interior, Rankins is a guy you draft to get better on defense, period, and that's what the Saints need to do.

As a reminder, in Kiper's second Mock Draft, he also had Rankins going to the Saints, where he said:

The Saints are in the midst of a rebuild on the defensive side of the ball, and Rankins can be unblockable when he's at his best, with exceptional quickness and the ability to make plays in the backfield from the interior. A stellar week at the Senior Bowl secured his place in the top half of Round 1.

Unlike in his second mock draft, Kiper adds free agency implications for each selection. For the Saints, Kiper notes:

Given their cap squeeze, the Saints can't be too aggressive in free agency, and they need to add defenders in the draft.

No news there. Other notable names in Kiper's third mock include Clemon's Shaq Lawson going to the New York Giants at number 10 and Alabama's A'Shawn Robinson to the Detroit Lions at number 16.
