Kicker Kai Forbath Re-Signs with New Orleans Saints

New, comments

The Saints kicking situation just got a little more cloudy.

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Even after the signing of Josh Scobee, the New Orleans Saints have apparently reached a deal with pending Free Agent Kai Forbath. The contract, whose terms are not yet known, is reportedly for one year.

Forbath spent the second half of the 2015 season with the New Orleans Saints, where he converted 9-of-13 field goals and 33-of-34 PATs. He also connected on a career long 57-yard Field Goal against the Houston Texans during the season.

Whether this is the final Kicker the Saints add this offseason or if the Saints draft one in the 2016 NFL Draft, the kicking job is clearly wide open this season with at least two names in the hat. Hopefully, this time, the Saints make the right choice. It should be noted Forbath came to the Saints last season after the Washington Redskins decided to hand the starting job to Dustin Hopkins, who the Saints released before the regular season.
