— Christopher Dabe (@cmdabe) April 8, 2016
NOLA.com is reporting that the New Orleans Saints are set to re-sign running back Tim Hightower. The sides have apparently met and agreed on terms to the contract, however said terms have yet to be disclosed.
Hightower was cut twice by New Orleans last season, both times before Week 3, before being brought back late in the season as a replacement for then-injured running back Khiry Robinson.
Talks on a new deal stalled last week when Hightower’s agent Eugene Parker passed away from a complication due to cancer.
The University of Richmond product rushed for 375 yards in 8 games for the Saints last season, tacking on 4 touchdowns, He also hauled in 12 passes for 129 yards. He has rushed for over 2,400 yards in his 5 year career, with his best seasons coming during his 3-year stint with the Arizona Cardinals.
Hightower turns 30 in May.
