Expect the Saints to Sign Another Kicker After Releasing Josh Scobee

Only Kai Forbath remains...but probably not for long.

Mickey Loomis announced yesterday that the New Orleans Saints have officially signed cornerback Jimmy Pruitt, who participated in the rookie minicamp this past weekend on a tryout basis. To make room, the team terminated the contract of kicker Josh Scobee and also waived tackle Bryan Witzmann.

That means the Saints only have Kai Forbath on the roster at the kicker position. So have the Saints already decided on their kicker for the 2016 season already? Before Memorial Day weekend? Highly doubt it.

The Saints currently have 89 players on their roster, which leaves them room to sign one more player to reach the 90-man limit. If I was a betting man, I'd say that final roster spot will be going to a kicker and soon. Forbath is certainly not good enough to earn his spot uncontested and the Saints will definitely want to give him someone to compete with in training camp.

The Saints worked out veterans Connor Barth and Nate Freese as well as undrafted free agent Anthony Pistelli this past weekend.
