The Saints could use some serious help at guard, that's no secret. Depth is very thin right now at the position. So thin, in fact, that many believe undrafted free agent Landon Turner could easily win a starting spot. A veteran, starting-caliber guard would be just what the doctor ordered for the Saints right about now. Obviously the free agency well is bone dry at this point.
Enter Dallas Cowboys guard Ronald Leary. Leary was absent from voluntary OTAs this week and stayed away from the Cowboys offseason training program. He is reportedly looking to be traded.
Leary was a starter for the Cowboys in 2013 and 2014, until suffering a groin injury in September 2015 and being Wally Pipped by La'el Collins. He signed a second-round RFA tender worth $2.5 million last month but will become an unrestricted free agent after 2016. Now he's forced into a reserve role with the Boys but would much rather be a starter for another team. In New Orleans, he would definitely be a starter.
So what do you guys think? What do you think it would take to get him here in New Orleans. Should the Saints trade for Leary... or should they be leery?
