Stud left tackle Terron Armstead has reportedly inked a 5 year contract extension with the New Orleans Saints. The signing comes as no surprise as Armstead has out-played the expectations of many! This is a best case scenario for the handling of Armstead's future heading into what would have been the final year of his rookie contract. Details have not yet been released, but this has to be music to the ears of QB Drew Brees.

Armstead was the 2nd of two 3rd round selections by the Saints in the 2013 draft. Terron created some pre-draft buzz for himself by running the fastest 40 yard dash time (4.71) of any lineman since the combine began in 1982. The 75th pick then went on to start 2 games his rookie season before becoming the official starter at LT in 2014. Recognized by Head Coach Sean Payton for his toughness, Armstead is force to be reckoned with.
Quick Fact: If the Saints and Armstead would not have struck a deal before the 2017 league year, the franchise tag (if applied) would have cost the Saints $14 million to keep him another year!
