Ole Grey Beard is returning to New Orleans.
Even though contract details have not been released, the Saints are bringing back Safety Roman Harper, who played his last two years as a member of the Carolina Panthers. As a member of the New Orleans Saints from 2006 to 2012, Harper appeared in two Pro Bowls (2009 & 2010).
With Jahri Evans and Marques Colston released this offseason, Roman Harper now makes four (on top of Drew Brees, Thomas Morstead, and Zach Strief) current roster members of the 2009 Super Bowl Champion team.
While many Saints fans criticized Harper during the end of his first tenure in NOLA as a physical Safety who could only play up in the box with stone-hands who couldn't catch an Interception if the pass was intended for him, he finished his first year in Carolina with a career-high 4 picks. With no picks last season, he still finished the year with 46 tackles.
