Per ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, the New Orleans Saints have signed free agent wide receiver Hakeem Nicks to a one year deal.
Former Giants, Colts and Titans WR Hakeem Nicks is signing a one-year deal with the New Orleans Saints, per source.

Nicks was drafted out of the University of North Carolina by the New York Giants in the first round of the 2009 NFL draft. Though he spent some time on the Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans, his last regular season appearance was last season with the Giants. Nicks is 6'1, 208 and just turned 28 this year. While he has never made a Pro Bowl, Nicks surpassed 1,000 receiving yards twice in his career - 2010 (1,052/11 TDs) and in 2011 (1,192/7 TDs).
I'm not entirely sure what to expect with Nicks as part of our receiving corps (a job he's auditioned for in the past) or whether he'll even make the team, but at the moment he joins 11 other guys at the position heading into training camp. It's also worth mentioning that since we traded Akiem Hicks last year, Hakeem Nicks may well usurp Jairus Byrd and Michael Hoomanawanui as being the least correctly pronounced name on the team.
All said, welcome to the Big Easy, Hakeem. Here's to hoping you'll pwn this year!
