Last week USA Today released their list of the NFL’s 100 most important people and not one person with any connection to the New Orleans Saints cracked the list.
Not even Saints quarterback and future hall-of-famer Drew Brees, the face of the Saints franchise, was selected, while other current quarterbacks like Aaron Rodgers, Tony Romo, and Russell Wilson make an appearance.
The list, meanwhile, quite questionably features media personalities like Matthew Berry, Mel Kiper, Todd McShay, Mike Mayock.
Probably the most baffling person to make the list is Greg Hardy who lands at No. 93. I am having a very hard time figuring out how a player guilty of domestic violence, who isn’t even technically in the league right now, is more important to the NFL than the likes of Drew Brees, Sean Payton, or even Brandin Cooks (who was named a future top-selling star by the NFLPA).
Do you think this is an oversight? Do you think the list is fair and reasonable? Sound off below.
