Second-year running back Marcus Murphy opened as the primary returner for the New Orleans Saints as preseason started. While his first returns weren’t much to talk about, it was this big 50-yard punt return that set the Saints up for their first score.

Murphy muffed the punt, but was able to recover to make something happen. Safety Erik Harris got a good block on the play. He was just a block or two away from taking it to the house.
While putting the ball on the ground isn’t something Sean Payton is a fan about, and it won’t score him many points, it’s good to see the Saints special teams get a big play in the team’s first preseason game.
