Four Players for Daily Fantasy Teams in New Orleans Saints at San Diego Chargers

Two Saints and two Chargers to target for daily fantasy.

NFL: Oakland Raiders at New Orleans Saints Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports

If you're a daily fantasy player, I looked at four players from the New Orleans Saints and San Diego Chargers rosters that I would target in daily fantasy (based off their value and potential results). Obviously, Saints QB Drew Brees is a safe QB for daily fantasy leagues, but spending your money on a top-tier starting QB leaves you scraping the barrel to fill out the rest of your roster.

Here are four names to look at from the Saints/Raiders games that provide the most bang for your buck. (Values from Fanduel.)

K Will Lutz - $4,500

I don’t think Lutz remains among the cheapest Kickers in Daily Fantasy much longer. I liked what I saw of him in the Saints loss to the Falcons, as he nailed each of extra points and drilled a long FG with leg to spare.

TE Coby Fleener - $5,400

Like Lutz, I don’t expect Fleener to have this much value much longer. Coming in $2,500 cheaper than the most expensive tight end available, Fleener was finally able to have a break out game on Monday Night. He finished with over 100 receiving yards and a TD, making it the second week in a row he saw an endzone target from QB Drew Brees.

RB Melvin Gordon - $7,600

Gordon is an expensive RB option, but comes in $1,100 cheaper than David Johnson of the Arizona Cardinals. Both Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman both hurt the New Orleans Saints defense last week, but most of their work came catching passes or running outside. While Gordon is no Danny Woodhead, he’s also no slouch catching passes.

WR Tyrell Williams - $6,400

Williams led the Chargers in targets last week, and will again look to have a big day on Sunday, this time against the New Orleans Saints questionable secondary. Williams comes a whopping $2,300 cheaper than the most expensive WR available, so great value can be found here.
