Brees has been seeking a 4yr deal worth $100M I'm told. He doesn't want to negotiate in-season. We'll see if something can get done

As it’s been said before by Brees, he doesn’t have a desire to discuss a new deal once the regular season starts. So, in theory the Saints would have until Saturday to get a deal in place for the superstar quarterback. However, not everyone buys that. Even if all parties can’t come to an agreement before the Week 1 opener, all is not lost. I could realistically see something happen during the team’s Week 5 bye.
The biggest hang-up in negotiations between agent Tom Condon and general manager Mickey Loomis could be in the guaranteed money of the deal, as Brees could be seeking some 65-70 percent of his new contract fully guaranteed.
