The New Orleans Saints made a host of moves on Monday.

As first reported by The Advocate’s Nick Underhill, that was since confirmed via the NFL Transaction Report, the team has officially re-signed running back Travaris Cadet and defensive end Darryl Tapp, added wide receiver Jordan Williams-Lambert and defensive back Taveze Calhoun to the practice squad, and placed rookie defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins on the reserve/injured list.

As noted earlier, Ashaad Mabry was waived. Another report by Underhill stated the Saints tried out kicker Will Lutz today, and he’s signed to the team’s practice squad according to his personal Instagram. Lutz was with Baltimore previously.

As for Rankins, his injured reserve designation will force him out of action for at least eight weeks. The earliest projected return for him would be Week 9 against the San Francisco 49ers. Although disappointing, this could prove to be a very important move for the Saints.
