Per agent John Perla Jr., the New Orleans Saints are adding kicker Wil Lutz to the 53-man roster. It was originally thought that Lutz would land on the team’s practice squad, as it was reported on Monday. However, things look like they’ve changed.
So forget the Practice Squad contract from yesterday. Former Georgia St K Wil Lutz is signed to Saints 53 man... https://t.co/Oq1FYalj3b

The former Georgia State kicker went undrafted, but was picked up by the Baltimore Ravens after the 2016 NFL draft. Lutz was a punter and kicker for the Panthers in 2015, and also handled kickoff duties. He held a school record for most field goals made (31), and had a long of 53.
Per a report from Pro Football Talk, the Saints are releasing veteran cornerback Cortland Finnegan. That leaves us somewhat scratching our head, as that would give the Saints four cornerbacks (Delvin Breaux, P.J. Williams, De’Vante Harris, and Ken Crawley) for the team’s home opener against the Oakland Raiders.
