The New Orleans Saints will do their best to refocus and strive to be better in 2017, and they’ll have the No. 11 overall pick in the NFL Draft to help with that. Here’s the current Top 20 draft order:
- Browns
- 49ers
- Bears
- Jaguars
- Titans (via Rams)
- Jets
- Chargers
- Panthers
- Bengals
- Bills
- Saints
- Browns (via Eagles)
- Cardinals
- Eagles (via Vikings) TBD with coin flip
- Colts - TBD with coin flip
- Ravens
- Redskins
- Titans
- Buccaneers
- Broncos
Over the past several seasons, the Saints have drafted 12th (2016 - Sheldon Rankins), 13th (2015 - Andrus Peat), and 20th (2014 - Brandin Cooks in trade with Cardinals). The black and gold will be without their fifth-round selection, which was traded to the Redskins to get David Onyemata in last year’s draft. The draft will be held in Philadelphia, PA from April 27-29.
Now, we sit and wait for what Sean Payton’s future will be with the team. When asked about his coaching status for 2017, he predictably said, “Next question.”
