Coming into Week 8, the entire NFC South was in action. The 4-2 division-leading New Orleans Saints hosted Chicago to face off again rookie QB Mitchell Trubisky and the Bears. The 4-3 Carolina Panthers had a divisional game on the road against the 2-4 Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The 3-3 Atlanta Falcons were set to place a rainy game on the road against the New York Jets.

So what happened in Week 8?

The Saints defense help seal a 12-20 victory over “Biscuit” and the Bears to improve to 5-2. Unfortunately, the Panthers also won 17-3 to keep the deficit at only half a game. The loss by the Bucs dropped them to 2-5 as their season continues to disappoint. The Falcons had another win by way of a 10-second clock run-off to end the game, beating the Jets 25-20.

Next week, the entire division faces off against each other. The New Orleans Saints host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for their second divisional game of the season. The Carolina Panthers host the Atlanta Falcons for their third divisional game this year. Both games are on Sunday at noon CST.

The Bucs might be in last place, but any divisional game is tough, even at home. Win, and let the rest of the division take care of itself. #BeattheBucs
