Both Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara Up for Another Set of Weekly NFL Awards

You know it was a good day when two players are up for the same award.

NFL: Chicago Bears at New Orleans Saints Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports

On way to a dominating 47-10 victory over the Buffalo Bills, the RB duo of Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara each had themselves a day. Ingram finished with 131 rushing yards and a career-high 3 rushing TDs at 6.2 yards per carry. Kamara rushed for 106 yards and a TD on a whopping 8.8 yards per carry. Kamara also chipped in an extra 32 yards in the air. Their performance has led for BOTH Saints RBs to be nominated for the NFL’s FedEx Ground Player of the Week.

Hopefully the two Saints backs don’t steal votes from each other leading to a win for 49ers RB Carlos Hyde. The Saints duo both played large roles in leading the Saints to a blowout win on the road.

But those accolades don’t stop there. Kamara is (again) up for NFL’s Rookie of the Week and Ingram is (also again) up for NFL’s Clutch Performer of the Week.

No doubt about it: the New Orleans Saints have the best RB duo in the NFL right now, and I’m not sure it’s all that close.
