It was just over two years ago the New Orleans Saints were embarrassed at FedEx Field by the Washington Redskins. In that 2015 season, Sean Payton’s squad was wrecked 47-14, which saw the end of the short Rob Ryan era.
The two franchises meet for 26th time in history in Week 11, in which the series history heavily favors Washington 17-8. New Orleans has lost four out of the last five to the Redskins, and are just 3-8 at home against them with the last victory coming in 1992. The other victories came in 1968 and 1973. That’s right. They have more victories at home against the Redskins at Tulane Stadium than the Superdome.
While most of that is very irrelevant for this particular matchup, it’s Kirk Cousins vs. Drew Brees, Jay Gruden matching wits against Sean Payton, and the Saints looking to keep their winning streak alive and keep themselves in the top seed of the NFC Playoff race. It’s going down, one way or another.
